With another year in the bag and another one just beginning, we’re finding that everyone is making some kind of resolution for 2014. Whether it’s to lose weight, stop smoking or learn a new language, the New Year is a great time to make a fresh break and a new start. So, in the spirit of things at this time of year, we thought we would put together a list of resolutions that you may not have considered – travel resolutions! Stick to these in 2014 and you are bound to have a great holiday this year!
1: I will explore somewhere new this year
We’ve all been there – sometimes it’s easy to fall in love with a certain place and you can’t help but return time and time again. While taking a holiday somewhere familiar can be comforting, remember that there is a whole world of options out there worth exploring! We’ve added some fantastic new destinations to our programme for 2014 including Rhodes, Ibiza and Corfu, so head on over to our destination pages for some top inspiration!
2: I will plan ahead
Instead of scrambling about for last minute deals, plan ahead this year and get your holiday booked well in advance. January is the perfect time to book, as holiday planning is a great way to get over the post-festive blues. Plus, with some great early booking deals, you really have no excuse to grab some sunshine in 2014!
3: I will pack smart
Dragging around bulky luggage can be a big source of stress on a holiday. Take the time before you go to sort out exactly what you need and pare out the stuff you don’t. Roll your clothes instead of folding and your holiday wardrobe will arrive at your destination (relatively!) wrinkle free. Or, if you fancy a change of luggage, why not invest in a backpack for hands-free travel?
4: I will look radiant on holiday
With all those holiday snaps being taken, it’s really important that you look good while on holiday. This means taking care of your skin and your hair. Be sure to load up on sun cream to avoid burning or premature aging, and check out our list of top beauty essentials that will really get you glowing.
5: I will not let travel stress me out
This is probably the most important resolution to make, and yet the hardest to keep! The whole point of going on holiday is to relax, so if you get to your destination like a huge ball of stress, then you are missing the point entirely! While we haven’t mastered the technology of teleportation quite yet, there are things you can do to make the journey a little easier, like getting everything you need ready in plenty of time, or drawing up a schedule so you don’t end up running late.
So there you have it! Our top five travel resolutions. Have you made any resolutions for 2014? Share them with us in the comments section below!
